This privacy policy applies to the Catch Up! app (the "Application") for mobile devices, created by Diego Valdez ("we," "us," or the "Service Provider"). Catch Up! is a beta social postcard app for sending photos, notes, reactions, and replies to people you choose to connect with. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the Application. If you are located in a country or region that requires a higher minimum age to consent to data processing without parental involvement (for example, some countries in the European Economic Area set this age between 13 and 16), you confirm that you meet that age, or that a parent or legal guardian has consented on your behalf. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to use the Application. See "Children's Privacy" below.
We collect the following categories of information:
Catch Up! offers an optional "Build with AI" feature that arranges and stylizes photos you select into a postcard image. When you choose to use this feature, the photos you select and the style options you pick (for example, mood or energy) are sent to Google's Generative AI (Gemini) API for the sole purpose of generating that postcard image. We do not use AI to profile you, to target advertising, or to make any automated decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you. No other AI processing occurs in the Application. Data you send to Google's API is handled under Google's own privacy terms, which we encourage you to review.
We use the information above to operate and improve the Application, verify your account, connect you with friends you choose to add, deliver the postcards and notifications you send or expect to receive, respond to support requests, and maintain the security of the service. We do not use your phone number to send marketing text messages or robocalls — it is used only for account verification and to help friends find you.
We rely on the following third-party service providers to operate the Application. They process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own independent purposes:
We may also disclose information as required by law (for example, to comply with a subpoena), to protect the rights or safety of the Service Provider or others, to investigate fraud, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will delete your account information and content within a reasonable time, and in any event no more than 90 days, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to receive a copy of it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at diegovaldezgomez@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time (and within any shorter period required by applicable law, such as 45 days for California residents under the CCPA or one month for EEA/UK residents under the GDPR). California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
The Application is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. We encourage children to never submit personally identifiable information through the Application. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at diegovaldezgomez@gmail.com so we can promptly delete it.
We use industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards to protect the information we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Application is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date below. Continued use of the Application after a change means you accept the updated policy.
